The Buderim Foundation Thompson Fund

In April 2021, philanthropists Roy and Nola Thompson entrusted over $5 million to the Buderim Foundation. An additional grants program entitled the Buderim Foundation Thompson Fund was established.

Chair of the Foundation, Dr Russell Stitz, said the Foundation would operate the Buderim Foundation Thompson Fund in the same way as the Foundation’s other investments and the generous donation will be preserved in perpetuity with only the revenue distributed each year in grants.

Grants from the Buderim Foundation Thompson Fund are designed specifically to look after those in financial need and are open to organisations providing support throughout the Sunshine Coast, including the Sunshine Coast and Noosa council areas.

Grants worth $246,950 have been awarded to nine organisations providing support to people experiencing homelessness and financial distress on the Sunshine Coast in the past two years.

We are currently accepting applications for the Thompson Fund Grants and will be assessing these on an on-going basis.

Please note that all applications are subject to completion of an End-of-Project Report and grant acquittal as per the guidelines.
