Response from the community has been excellent. Between January and October, donations and pledges of more than $180,000 have been received from Buderim residents, businesses and community organisations. All donations, ranging from $20 to $20,000 have been gratefully received.
We believe it is important to publically recognise the contribution of donors, so every donor will be recognised and the names of large donors will appear on a plaque in a public place.
All donations made during 2012 will be considered as donations to the B150 Community Challenge and donors will be publicly recognised (although donors can opt out if they wish). Names will be proudly displayed on the notice board at the front of the Old Post Office in Burnett Street and here on the website. A column in the Buderim Chronicle will also inform the community of progress, and record stories of the time and talent donated by volunteers.
To ensure lasting recognition for the major donors, the Foundation has worked with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council to develop a recognition plaque inscribed with the names of every donor of $2,000 or more. It is proposed that this plaque will be erected in early 2013 in a new parkland area overlooking Martins Creek in Lindsay Road.
