Good News Night - 5 September, 2008
Good news, real progress and a great Buderim concept all deserve to be celebrated which is why the Buderim Foundation is holding a Good News Night in the Buderim Memorial Hall on 19 September.
The Good News Night will give interested members of the community the opportunity to learn of the Buderim Foundation's progress and to hear of plans for the future.
It's also the perfect opportunity for people who are not yet involved in the Foundation to gain an understanding of the concept, and what has been achieved to date.
The Buderim Foundation was formally launched by the former Governor of Queensland, Ms Quentin Bryce A.C. on April 6, 2004. It is a not-for-profit public company registered under the Commonwealth Corporation Act 2001.
Put simply the Foundation, working in conjunction with the Buderim War Memorial Community Association Inc. (BWMCA), has three main tasks:
• It receives donations and bequests from community members (money in)
• It wisely invests the funds in order to generate income (money managed)
• And it uses that income to provide grants for community projects (money out)
Since establishment in 2004 the Foundation has worked determinedly to raise funds to invest. The most important milestone has been reached, and income from those funds is ready to be distributed back to the community.
Those attending the Good News Night will have the pleasure of witnessing the presentation of the Foundation's first-ever grants to worthy Buderim recipients and to celebrate this historic occasion over refreshments provided by the ‘Friends of Buderim' and Tanunda Cellars.
So come along and show your support for this innovative Buderim concept and the Foundation's growing family of members, donors, directors, ambassadors and friends.
The evening starts at 5.00pm will end at approximately 8pm.
RSVP required by 15 September by phoning 5456 1757 or email.
