Grants
Grant Applications closed for 2008
The Foundation is now at an exciting phase of its development having built a big enough base of donations (over $250 000 as at 31 January, 2008) and accumulated enough interest to warrant making its first grants. There is an estimated funding pool of around $15 000 to distribute in September 2008 to local non-profit organisations. From then on, an annual grant round will be made each September following a similar process.
Given the limited funds, the Foundation anticipates being able to provide funds to a limited number of projects from the seven areas of interest that seek to enhance Buderim's quality of life by:
- Protecting and preserving our natural environment
- Assisting people in need to live healthy and fulfilling lives
- Adding richness and diversity to local artistic and cultural endeavours
- Increasing learning opportunities across all age groups
- Celebrating and showcasing our heritage and local history and
- Encouraging and supporting those with sporting and other recreation interests
- Strengthening the social fabric of the community.
