The Buderim Foundation’s third annual grant round opens shortly on 5 July, a few weeks later than last year due to the later scheduling of the Foundation’s  Good News Night on 24 September.

Foundation volunteers will be releasing guidelines and forms in the next few days for the
application process which ends on 13 August.

An information session for community groups interested in applying for a 2010 Buderim Foundation Grant will be held in the Buderim Old Post Office on Wednesday June  30 at 5.30pm.

In 2009 Foundation grants were awarded to the Buderim Concert Band  Inc., Buderim Lions  Club Inc., the Buderim Historical Society Inc. ,  Buderim Palmwoods Heritage Tramway Inc. , Eric Joseph Foote War Memorial Sanctuary  Inc. and Guides Buderim, University of the Third Age, Sunshine Coast 3A .

The concept of a community foundation, and its ability to give grants, is simple. Donations to the Buderim Foundation are carefully invested and the income is distributed as grants for community projects. Donations, however small, are
never spent so the donor’s gift to the community lasts forever.

The Buderim Foundation, an independent, not-for-profit organisation was established in 2003.
