Buderim’s Foote Sanctuary now has a state-of-the art drinking fountain – thanks to a grant from the Buderim Foundation.

The fountain was officially turned on for the Eric Joseph Foote War Memorial Sanctuary’s annual general meeting and Christmas party in December.

The grant of $3,715 from the Foundation covered the cost of the fountain which is wheelchair accessible and includes a bowl for dogs. Overflow water from the fountain goes into the doggie bowl.

Foote committee member Mrs Lorraine Brace said: “The fountain looks wonderful and while we were having our meeting two dogs had a drink from the dog bowl. Everyone at the Christmas party had a drink from the fountain and an inspection.”

In 2009, its second year of making grants, the Buderim Foundation increased its total funds distributed to local community organisations by 10 per cent to $16,500.

The Buderim Foundation, an independent, not-for-profit, philanthropic organisation, was established by the Buderim War Memorial Community Association in 2003 to attract donations from individuals, including bequests and tax deductible donations.

Donations are invested forever and only the income used to make grants. The Foundation accepts donations of anything of value including cash, shares, property, or art.
