Grants were first awarded in 2008, and in the five years from 2008 to 2012, the Buderim Foundation awarded grants worth $89,918 to 24 Buderim community organisations. Grants have been awarded across each of the Foundation's seven areas of interest, including youth organisations such as the Scouts, Guides and the Alcooringa Youth and Community Centre.

Grants are awarded each year at the Foundation's Good News Night in September.  

Successful applicants

2008

•  Buderim Mountain State School P and C received $5,000 for the School's Archives Restoration project.

•  Buderim Scout Group received $4,000 for a new storage shed for its Scout Den and expand the recreation opportunities available for Buderim children and youth. 

• Suncoasters Square Dance Club Inc. received $4,752 for Security and Access Lighting for its building.  

2009

• University of the Third Age received $269 for a Mipro Wireless Portable Public Address System 

• EJ Foote War Memorial Sanctuary Association received $3,715 for the Foote Sanctuary Drinking Fountain

• Buderim-Palmwoods Heritage Tramway Association received $2,654 for the Buderim Tramway - History and Restoration Works

• Buderim Lions Club, Buderim received $2,200 for Families in the Park Days

• Buderim Historical Society  received $496 for a Library Book Cabinet

• Girl Guides Support Group received $2,755 to Increase Useage of the Guide Hut

• Buderim Concert Band received $3,090 for its Buderim Music Masterclass 2010

2010

• Fusion Community Care received $3,929 for the Alcooringa Buderim Signage project

• 4 Paws Animal Rescue Inc. received $1,154 for Equipment (a microchip reader and display boards)

• Buderim Craft Cottage Assoc. Inc. received $4,000 for the Erection of a Street Sign 

• Martins Creek Headwaters Action Group received $3,500 for the Rehabilitation of Martins Ck. Headwaters

• Sunshine Coast Bushwalkers Inc. received $1,509 for its Safety in Bushwalking project (personal locator beacons, first aid kits and UHF 2-way radios). 

• Sunshine FM Radio Assoc. Inc received $1,595 for the Development of "Live Broadcast" Facilities 

2011

• Buderim SAILS (Anglican Sailing Adventures in Life Skills) received $5,000 for "The B150 History Project"

• Maroochy Waterwatch Inc. received $3,500 for its "Bring back the Butterflies" project 

• Buderim - Palmwoods Heritage Tramway Association received $2,500 for its "Interpretive Signage" project

• BATS Theatre Company received $4,000 for its "Purchase of a standard wireless talkback system" project

• Rotary Club of Buderim (sponsor of Buderim Men’s Shed Steering Committee) received $4,000 for its "Establishment of an Operational Men's Shed" project 

• Buderim Mountain State School P&C Association received $2,000 for its "Collaborative School Arts Project celebrating Buderim 150" project

• Coastal Caring Clowns received $600 for its "Training to New Clowns" project 

• U3A (sponsor on behalf of U3A Birdwatching Group) received $410 for its "Birds on Buderim - to celebrate Buderim 150" project.

Also in 2011, for the first time,
Youth in Philanthropy Program (YIPP) grants were awarded to:

• Fusion Sunshine Coast  who received $4,600 towards the cost of purchasing and erecting a large shed to house their new Streetwork bus. Fusion Sunshine Coast will also receive $9,000 over three calendar years towards the delivery of youth programs arising out of the Foundation’s 2009 youth-led planning process. 

• The Sunshine Coast Youth Partnership received $3,000 for three twilight cinema shows with the possibility of funding for three more cinema shows in the following year.

2012

  • Buderim Men’s Shed received $3,194 for workshop equipment;
  • Maroochydore State Emergency Service Support Association received $2,245 for computers for their
    Operational Management System;
  • QCWA received $3,000 for a chairlift installation at the Buderim Memorial Hall;
  • Buderim Historical Society received $1,382 to replace computers for cataloguing assets and memorabilia;
  • Buderim Male Choir received $3,730 towards their performance of ‘Cantata for Buderim’ as part of the B150 Celebrations
  • Buderim Sails received $3,739 for a Buderim Indigenous and South Sea Islander map and brochure.

Youth in Philanthropy Program (YIPP) grants were awarded to: 

  • Fusion
    Sunshine Coast, who received $3,000, as the second year's funding for
    support of the delivery of youth programs arising out of the
    Foundation’s 2009 youth-led planning process.
  • The Sunshine Coast Youth Partnership received $3,000 for its youth leadership project for a Twilight Cinema in Buderim.
