Buderim community

Buderim is one of the jewels of the Sunshine Coast, a vibrant and dynamic community set on and around an elevated volcanic ridge tucked between the coast’s famous beaches of Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland and Maroochydore to the east and its many charming hinterland towns to the west.

First settled by Europeans around 150 years ago, its rich red soil has yielded a bounty of harvest through the decades including sugar cane, coffee, citrus, bananas, small crops and of course ginger. These days, its agricultural past has given way to residential gardens in a lush green setting and a close knit community lifestyle. It’s where residents who’ve chosen Buderim to put down roots make the most of the moderate sub-tropical weather and close proximity to everything they need.

However it’s the outstanding sense of community that defines Buderim. Talk to anyone and they will tell you about the scores of community organisations packed with energetic volunteers, the many neighbourhood initiatives and the acts of kindness shown to a neighbour in need. They all agree that Buderim is a friendly and welcoming place whose residents display a strong sense of care for those around them.

It’s a community that really does have it all.
